The pottery class costs $200.00 to $220.00. Participants can learn a new skill with instructor Mary Kay in a beginner-friendly pottery class. The class focuses on hand-building techniques like pinch, coil, and slab construction in a relaxed studio environment. It offers a hands-on experience for those new to clay or looking to reconnect with creativity, encouraging participants to slow down and explore handmade forms. All materials and tools are provided; participants only need curiosity and a willingness to get a little muddy.
Upon completing the course, students can use the open studio for hand building only. More details about open studio use are available upon request. Wheel use is not permitted for students who have not completed the proper courses.
Week one consists of two back-to-back classes on Wednesday, September 17, and Thursday, September 18. All subsequent weeks will meet for class on Thursdays only. There are five classes total: Wednesday, September 17; Thursday, September 18; Thursday, September 25; Thursday, October 2; and Thursday, October 9. The classes run from September 17 to October 9, from 5-7 pm. The class is for ages 16 and up. The cost is $200 for members and $220 for non-members. The sign-up deadline is Wednesday, September 16.
The refund policy states that all classes, workshops, and series offered by the Center for the Arts are non-refundable, so participants should double-check their schedules when signing up. Refunds are typically only issued for unforeseeable circumstances involving the instructor or facility. If a participant is sick and must cancel, they may receive a partial refund, excluding instructor fees, for the class sessions, at the discretion of the Center for the Arts.
