STAY IN Carillon Beach
ABOUT CARILLON BEACH
Never heard of it? You’re not alone. Just east of Inlet Beach and Scenic 30A, near the western end of Panama City Beach, Carillon Beach feels like its own little world. Pastel homes, cozy cottages, wide porches, and a laid-back residential vibe set the tone. Take the beach walkovers to the wide white-sand beach, cool off in the Gulf-front pool, then head to the village for casual dining or a glass of wine. Charming, easygoing, and unmistakably Carillon.
BEST OF BOTH SIDES
Carillon Beach sits in a sweet spot between 30A and Panama City Beach, putting the shops, restaurants, and attractions of both areas within easy reach. Beach day here. Dinner there. Or just stay put.
WELL PLAYED, LLOYD
In 1991, Carillon Beach began taking shape as a coastal resort community with a walkable, New Urbanist-inspired layout. Lloyd Vogt, a renowned New Orleans architect, helped develop the town plan, drawing on his appreciation for historic preservation and traditional urbanism. His vision helped shape the charming village Carillon Beach is today. Nicely done, Mr. Vogt.
SLOW DOWN. YOU’VE ARRIVED.
Carillon Beach has a relaxed residential atmosphere that makes slowing down feel pretty natural. Spend the morning by the water, wander around the village, or settle onto a porch and enjoy the scenery. It’s a refined little escape without making a big production about it.
WATER-A-PLENTY
The beach gets plenty of attention, but Lake Carillon deserves some too. This 13-acre freshwater lake is home to lily pads, bass, turtles, and occasional migrating birds. Apparently, one kind of water wasn’t enough.
