Nobody books a 30A vacation for the golf cart.
Then it becomes everyone’s favorite part.
Someone mentions the beach, and seven minutes later, you and your crew are loaded up and on the sand. Gear included. The coffee run becomes a morning tradition. And somebody volunteers for getting ice cream because it means taking the cart.
Before long, you’re looking for excuses to use it. That’s the magic.
A QUICK NOTE ON GOLF CART RULES OF 30A
30A is very golf cart-friendly, but the carts provided with Oversee rentals, LSVs (low-speed vehicles) have rules. Follow them, park in proper spaces, and the cart is the best part of your trip.
• LSVs are permitted on roads posted at 35 mph or less. Most 30A community
roads qualify. US-98 does not.
• No sidewalks, bike paths, boardwalks, beaches, or trails.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Seat belts and passenger limits apply, read the instructions before loading up.
• Each community and property may have its own specific rules. Read them.
THE BEST 30A NEIGHBORHOODS FOR A GOLF CART
Not every neighborhood is golf-cart friendly. Most are. A cart turns a great vacation into an even better one.
SEACREST: Best for energy, walkability, and winging it.
Seacrest doesn’t require much thought.
Hop in the cart and head toward Peddlers Pavilion. The streets are made for wandering, everything feels close, and nobody’s doing parking math. Just go.
But be careful cruising to the farmers market: collecting flies in your teeth from too much laughing is a thing here.
DUNE ALLEN: Best for slowing down.
Dune Allen isn’t the loudest place on 30A.
Quiet streets, natural scenery, fewer crowds. A golf cart here isn’t about getting more done. It’s about doing less and enjoying it.
A golf cart ride here feels less like transportation and more like part of the vacation. Especially when nobody in the cart has anywhere urgent to be.
GULF PLACE: Best for going wherever the day takes you.
Turn a quick golf cart ride into dinner, live music, ice cream, and a sunset.
Not always planned. Always worth it. For that super chill vibe, the golf cart fits right in.
Short rides, easy parking, and plenty of reasons to leave the schedule behind and see where the evening goes. Relaxed, walkable, and full of local flavor. The golf cart simply makes saying “Let’s go” a little easier.
WATERCOLOR: Best for the full resort-style experience.
This is where the golf cart starts flexing big-time.
Beach Club. Community pools. Camp WaterColor. Western Lake. Seaside a short ride away. Phew, there is a lot here, on purpose.
By Wednesday, someone will ask, “Wait, where did we park the car?”
BLUE MOUNTAIN BEACH: Best for easygoing days.
A neighborhood feel rather than a resort feel.
No schedule. No hurry. Just the slow loop to the beach, and the after-dinner cruise because the evening is too nice to be inside. I loved Basanti’s during both visits.
Oh, and that ice cream place? Ya can’t miss it.
SEAGROVE: Best all-around choice.
Seagrove is magical. But it’s also practical. Central, easy, close to a little bit of everything.
Seaside is close. Grayton Beach is right on the other side of it. Rosemary is reachable.
The golf cart gets used constantly here. Not because you have to drive far. Because you don’t.
WHAT TO ACTUALLY LOOK FOR IN A GOLF CART RENTAL
• Is the golf cart included or do you rent it separately?
• How many seats does it have?
• Are there community-specific rules?
• Is there designated parking?
• Is the home close to the places you plan to visit most?
• Does the home comfortably fit your group?
A few combinations that tend to make the whole trip click: Golf Cart + Private Pool, Golf Cart + Pool Access, Golf Cart + Beach Chair Service, Golf Cart + Pet Friendly 30A vacation rentals.
