Miramar Beach sits just east of Destin and west of Scenic 30A, close enough to borrow the energy of both, far enough to keep its own laid-back pace. It’s a great home base for shopping at Silver Sands Premium Outlets or catching the buzz at Grand Boulevard.
NEW NAME, SAME VIEW
Miramar Beach wasn’t always Miramar Beach. Back in the day, locals called this stretch Shoals, Florida. The area was homesteaded in the late 1920s, became the Miramar Beach Subdivision in 1937, and started taking shape as the beach town we know today in the 1950s. And the name Miramar? It translates to “look at the sea.” Seems pretty fitting.
BRING THE TOWEL. STAY AWHILE.
Soft white sand, emerald water, and dolphins that like to show off just offshore. Dolphin Reef is your best shot at a sighting. Parasail with the gulls, snorkel, or just stake a claim and watch the show. Scenic Gulf Drive Regional Beach Access offers parking, restrooms, and a boardwalk to the beach.
NEED A BREAK FROM THE SAND?
The beach isn’t the only way to go. Scenic Gulf Drive also runs a walking and biking path alongside the water, perfect for working off breakfast or catching sunset on two wheels.
