The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) invites current CAA member artists to submit up to three original works for consideration in an upcoming Foster Gallery Outreach Special Exhibit at Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) in Grand Boulevard Town Center.
This special themed exhibition will be on view in the ECTC lobby from February 3 through June 5, 2026. It is designed to complement ECTC’s Season 13 productions, Forever Plaid and Mystic Pizza. Together, the exhibit and performances will create an immersive cultural experience that celebrates nostalgia, music, and Americana storytelling.
The theme is “Retro Americana.” Artists are encouraged to submit original works inspired by this theme, which is described as a visual celebration of classic American culture. Submissions may explore diners and jukeboxes, classic cars, small-town life, vintage fashion, pop culture icons, and the feeling of the “good old days,” while also reflecting on themes such as memory, nostalgia versus reality, and reinterpretations of old photographs.
About The Foster Gallery: Established by the CAA in 2016, The Foster Gallery honors founder, artist, and educator Susan Foster and has long served as a platform for showcasing local and regional artists. As the program has grown, the CAA has evolved The Foster Gallery into a Visual Arts Outreach Program, bringing art into public and community-centered spaces throughout Walton County. Through this outreach model, artists gain increased visibility and opportunities to exhibit and sell their work while connecting with broader and more diverse audiences beyond a single gallery location. This special exhibit at ECTC continues that mission, pairing visual art with live performance and inviting artists to be part of a unique, cross-disciplinary collaboration.
The exhibit location is the Emerald Coast Theatre Company at 560 Grand Blvd., Ste 200 Upstairs, Miramar Beach, FL 32550.
How it works: Artists are not required to work at the host location, however, they must be current members of the CAA (members do not have to be local). Information on joining is available online.
Timeline: The call to artists is from December 5, 2025, to January 20, 2026. Artist notification will be on January 23, 2026. Art delivery to ECTC is scheduled for January 28 and 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibit opens on February 3, 2026. An artist reception is planned for February 12, 2026, from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The exhibit ends on June 5, 2026. Mandatory art pick-up dates are June 5 or 9, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The CAA looks forward to seeing unique creations and celebrating the diverse talents of the creative community. Artists are encouraged not to miss this opportunity to showcase their work and connect with fellow artists and art enthusiasts.
How to apply: Applicants should study the criteria and submit an application online prior to 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

This special themed exhibition will be displayed in the Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) lobby in Grand Boulevard Town Center from February 3 through June 5, 2026. The exhibit is designed to complement ECTC’s Season 13 productions, “Forever Plaid” and “Mystic Pizza,” creating an immersive cultural experience that celebrates nostalgia, music, and Americana storytelling.
The theme is “Retro Americana,” which is a visual celebration of classic American culture. Artists are encouraged to submit original works inspired by this theme, which may include diners and jukeboxes, classic cars, small-town life, vintage fashion, pop culture icons, and the feeling of the “good old days.” Submissions may also reflect on themes such as memory, nostalgia versus reality, and reinterpretations of old photographs.
Established by the CAA in 2016, The Foster Gallery honors founder, artist, and educator Susan Foster and has been a platform for local and regional artists. As the program grew, the CAA transformed The Foster Gallery into a Visual Arts Outreach Program, aiming to bring art into public and community-centered spaces throughout Walton County. This outreach model offers artists increased visibility and opportunities to exhibit and sell their work to broader and more diverse audiences. This special exhibit at ECTC continues this mission by pairing visual art with live performance in a unique, cross-disciplinary collaboration. The exhibit location is the Emerald Coast Theatre Company at 560 Grand Blvd., Ste 200 Upstairs, Miramar Beach, FL 32550.
Artists are not required to work at the host location but must be current members of the CAA, though they do not have to be local. Information on joining the CAA is available online.

GOLF
The Greens of the Emerald Coast.
Kelly Plantation Golf Club
Designed by Fred Couples and Gene Bates, Kelly Plantation Golf Club is gorgeous. With challenging play, amidst stunning coastal scenery and bayside views, the club is consistently top-rated by Golf Digest and the Zagat survey.
The impeccably maintained course is open to the public and is a favorite destination of golfers from throughout the country and around the world, and boasts more than 7,000 yards of contoured greens, wide manicured fairways, strategically placed hazards, and panoramic views of Choctawhatchee Bay.
The Links Course
For a unique challenge, try outfoxing the prevailing Gulf Coast winds. It may be the only way to achieve success on this classic links-style, shot-makers course, the ultimate in risk-reward golf.
The winding, one-of-a-kind layout includes five holes that run along the bay and spectacular views of the Choctawhatchee Bay and the Baytowne Marina.
Baytowne Golf Club
Recognized as the only course on Florida’s Emerald Coast that extends from the beach to the bay, Baytowne Golf Club is revered as one of the finest creations by renowned designer Tom Jackson.
One of the most sought-after golf experiences on the Panhandle, and brimming with choices, Baytowne has been hailed, twice, by Golf Digest as one of the “Best Places to Play”, with some of the only elevation changes for any golf course in the South Walton or Destin area. With multiple teeing areas, the course is as forgiving from the forward tees as it is challenging from the championship tees.
A fifth set of tees makes this course a great option for beginners just learning the game, or for a brisk afternoon round of golf after a meeting, or before dinner at the nearby Village of Baytowne Wharf.
Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club
A private beach club and member-owned, the recent multi-million-dollar renovation of Santa Rosa inspired Golf Magazine to call it the “Purest Golf in the Florida Panhandle.”
You’ll be challenged by the many elevation changes. And wowed by the natural wildlife and its habitats. The golf course is designed for walking, with very little distance between greens and tees. But that’s okay, two of the holes back up to the Gulf of Mexico, a rarity around here. Explore the course, and see what makes golf at Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club, unlike anything you’ve played before.
Raven Golf Club
Masterfully carved through marshes, wetlands, and pines, the par 71 layout at Raven Golf Club is “modern traditional”. A natural wonder that presents drama and strategy on every tee, golfers can elevate their game with a myriad of exciting shot options.
The dramatic changes in color and texture throughout the course, such as large, undulating greens, help make club selection an essential part of each round. Raven was home to the Boeing Championship—a stop on the PGA Champions Tour—in 2006 and 2007.
Origins Golf Club, Watersound
The mission of Origins Golf Club is to make golf more fun, accessible, and attractive to families, beginners, and casual golfers. No clubs? No problem. Origins will rent you whatever you need to get you out there and swinging.
Burnt Pine Golf Club
When Golf Magazine calls you the "Crown Jewel of Florida Golf", you tee up and take notice. Course architect Rees Jones proves in this 7,000-yard layout why he is one of the most respected architects in the world.
Breathtaking views along the Choctawhatchee Bay highlight the back nine. Meander through pine forests and wetlands of the Emerald Coast on the front nine. Rolling fairways and strategically placed bunkers invite golfers to out-duel the course by using a different approach to every hole. You'll be challenged by Burnt Pine Golf Club, and amazed.
Seascape
In the prime location of Miramar Beach, the perfectly manicured greens of Seascape are nearly as seductive as the lush forests and coastal dune lakes. With breathtaking views of the Gulf from many of the holes, the tranquil, yet challenging settings, were envisioned and designed by famed course architect Joe Lee.
The sheer beauty of the terrain, with its tall pines, shimmering waters, and softly rolling hills has been known to distract even the most ardent golfers. If time is an issue, Seascape offers the option of playing nine holes in the afternoon.
