This exhibit will be held at the Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) in Grand Boulevard Town Center.
The special themed exhibition will be displayed in the ECTC lobby from February 3 through June 5, 2026. The exhibit is designed to complement ECTC’s Season 13 productions, Forever Plaid and Mystic Pizza. The goal is for the exhibit and performances to create an immersive cultural experience that celebrates nostalgia, music, and Americana storytelling.
The theme is “Retro Americana,” and artists are encouraged to submit original works inspired by this visual celebration of classic American culture. Submissions may explore topics such as diners and jukeboxes, classic cars, small-town life, vintage fashion, pop culture icons, and the feeling of the “good old days.” Artists are also encouraged to reflect on themes such as memory, nostalgia versus reality, and reinterpretations of old photographs.

As the program has grown, the CAA has evolved The Foster Gallery into a Visual Arts Outreach Program, which brings art into public and community-centered spaces throughout Walton County. This outreach model allows artists to gain increased visibility and opportunities to exhibit and sell their work while connecting with broader and more diverse audiences beyond a single gallery location. This special exhibit at ECTC continues that mission, pairing visual art with live performance and inviting artists to be part of a unique, cross-disciplinary collaboration.
The exhibit location is the Emerald Coast Theatre Company at 560 Grand Blvd., Ste 200 Upstairs, Miramar Beach, FL 32550. Foster Gallery Outreach Special Exhibit: Retro Americana
Miramar Beach
Emerald Coast Theatre Company
560 Grand Boulevard, Miramar Beach, 32550
Wednesday, February 18, 10:00 am - 12:00 am
In 4 days
The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) is inviting current CAA member artists to submit up to three original works for an upcoming Foster Gallery Outreach Special Exhibit at Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) in Grand Boulevard Town Center. This special themed exhibition will be on view in the ECTC lobby from February 3 through June 5, 2026. The exhibit is designed to complement ECTC’s Season 13 productions, *Forever Plaid* and *Mystic Pizza*, aiming to create an immersive cultural experience that celebrates nostalgia, music, and Americana storytelling.
The theme for the exhibit is “Retro Americana”—a visual celebration of classic American culture. Artists are encouraged to submit original works inspired by this theme, exploring subjects such as diners and jukeboxes, classic cars, small-town life, vintage fashion, pop culture icons, and the feeling of the “good old days.” Submissions may also reflect on themes like memory, nostalgia versus reality, and reinterpretations of old photographs.
The Foster Gallery was established by the CAA in 2016 to honor founder, artist, and educator Susan Foster, and has served as a platform for showcasing local and regional artists. As the program has grown, the CAA has evolved The Foster Gallery into a Visual Arts Outreach Program, bringing art into public and community-centered spaces throughout Walton County. This outreach model offers artists increased visibility and opportunities to exhibit and sell their work, connecting them with broader and more diverse audiences beyond a single gallery location. The special exhibit at ECTC continues this mission by pairing visual art with live performance in a unique, cross-disciplinary collaboration.
The exhibit location is Emerald Coast Theatre Company at 560 Grand Blvd., Ste 200 Upstairs, Miramar Beach, FL 32550. Artists are not required to work at the host location, but they must be current members of the CAA (members do not have to be local). Information on joining the CAA is available online.
The timeline for the exhibit is as follows: The call to artists runs from December 5, 2025, to January 20, 2026. Artists will be notified on January 23, 2026. Art delivery to ECTC is scheduled for January 28 and 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibit opens on February 3, 2026, with an Artist Reception on February 12, 2026, from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The exhibit ends on June 5, 2026. Mandatory art pick-up is scheduled for June 5 or 9, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Through vivid performance and interactive storytelling, Liz Wilson brings to life the extraordinary journeys of Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, and the legacy of her own great-great-grandmother, Harriet. This moving presentation honors women whose unwavering faith guided them through injustice, changing the course of history and serving as their true North Star. Anna Fisher, Associate Artistic Director of ECTC, stated that the performance reminds audiences that faith is courageous, bold, and transformative, driving these women forward with conviction when their path was unclear. Their stories demonstrate that inner strength and purpose have the power to change history for the better.
The performance will be held at the Emerald Coast Theatre Company, located at 560 Grand Boulevard, Suite 200, Miramar Beach, FL. Admission is free, but seating is limited. Guests are encouraged to reserve seats by RSVPing to boxoffice@emeraldcoasttheatre.org.
Elizabeth “Liz” Briscoe Wilson is an award-winning educator, librarian, and master storyteller who has spent more than 40 years bringing African American women’s history vividly to life. Thursday, February 19, 10:00 am - 12:00 am

The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) is inviting its current member artists to submit up to three original works for an upcoming Foster Gallery Outreach Special Exhibit. This exhibit will be held at the Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) in Grand Boulevard Town Center. The special themed exhibition, which will be on view in the ECTC lobby from February 3 through June 5, 2026, is designed to complement ECTC’s Season 13 productions, “Forever Plaid” and “Mystic Pizza.” The exhibit and performances aim to create an immersive cultural experience celebrating nostalgia, music, and Americana storytelling.
The theme for the exhibition is “Retro Americana.” Artists are encouraged to submit original works inspired by a visual celebration of classic American culture. Submissions may explore elements like diners, jukeboxes, classic cars, small-town life, vintage fashion, pop culture icons, and the feeling of the “good old days.” Artists are also encouraged to reflect on themes such as memory, nostalgia versus reality, and reinterpretations of old photographs.
The Foster Gallery, established by the CAA in 2016, honors founder, artist, and educator Susan Foster and has served as a platform for showcasing local and regional artists. The CAA has evolved The Foster Gallery into a Visual Arts Outreach Program, bringing art into public and community-centered spaces throughout Walton County. This outreach model offers artists increased visibility and opportunities to exhibit and sell their work while connecting with broader audiences beyond a single gallery location. This special exhibit at ECTC continues that mission by pairing visual art with live performance and promoting a unique, cross-disciplinary collaboration.
The exhibit location is the Emerald Coast Theatre Company at 560 Grand Blvd., Ste 200 Upstairs, Miramar Beach, FL 32550. Artists are not required to work at the host location, but they must be current members of the CAA (membership is not restricted to local artists).
The timeline for the exhibit is as follows: The call to artists is from December 5, 2025, to January 20, 2026. Artists will be notified on January 23, 2026. The CAA looks forward to seeing the unique creations and celebrating the diverse talents of the creative community, noting this as an opportunity for artists to showcase their work and connect with fellow artists and art enthusiasts. To apply, interested artists must study the criteria and submit an application online prior to 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Foster Gallery Outreach Special Exhibit: Retro Americana
Miramar Beach
Emerald Coast Theatre Company
560 Grand Boulevard, Miramar Beach, 32550
Friday, February 20, 10:00 am - 12:00 am
In 6 days
The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) is inviting its current member artists to submit up to three original works for consideration in an upcoming Foster Gallery Outreach Special Exhibit. This exhibit will be held at the Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) in Grand Boulevard Town Center.
This special themed exhibition is scheduled to be on view in the ECTC lobby from February 3 through June 5, 2026. It is designed to complement ECTC’s Season 13 productions, Forever Plaid and Mystic Pizza. The exhibit and performances together aim to create an immersive cultural experience that celebrates nostalgia, music, and Americana storytelling.
The theme for the exhibit is “Retro Americana.” Artists are encouraged to submit original works inspired by a visual celebration of classic American culture. Submissions may explore topics such as diners and jukeboxes, classic cars, small-town life, vintage fashion, pop culture icons, and the feeling of the “good old days,” while also reflecting on themes like memory, nostalgia versus reality, and reinterpretations of old photographs.
The Foster Gallery was established by the CAA in 2016 to honor founder, artist, and educator Susan Foster. It has historically served as a platform for showcasing local and regional artists. As the program expanded, the CAA transformed The Foster Gallery into a Visual Arts Outreach Program, bringing art into public and community-centered spaces throughout Walton County.
This outreach model helps artists gain increased visibility and opportunities to exhibit and sell their work, connecting them with broader and more diverse audiences beyond a single gallery location. This special exhibit at ECTC continues that mission by pairing visual art with live performance and inviting artists to participate in a unique, cross-disciplinary collaboration.
The exhibit location is the Emerald Coast Theatre Company at 560 Grand Blvd., Ste 200 Upstairs, Miramar Beach, FL 32550.
Artists are not required to work at the host location, but they must be current members of the CAA (membership is not restricted to local residents). Information on joining the CAA is available online.
The timeline for the exhibit is as follows: The call to artists runs from December 5, 2025, to January 20, 2026. Artist notification will be on January 23, 2026. Art delivery to ECTC is scheduled for January 28 and 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibit opens on February 3, 2026. An Artist Reception will take place on February 12, 2026, from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The exhibit closes on June 5, 2026. The mandatory art pick-up date is either June 5 or 9, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The CAA looks forward to seeing the unique creations and celebrating the diverse talents of the creative community. Artists are encouraged not to miss this opportunity to showcase their work and connect with fellow artists and art enthusiasts.
To apply, artists must study the criteria and submit an application online prior to 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
