How to catch fish in one easy step:
Get professional help.
Catching fish is easy with a seasoned captain at your side. The moment you contact a local fishing guide, you’re in good hands because every charter caters to families set on creating hassle-free, 30A adventures. The only thing you have to do is decide from over a dozen full-service experts in the area. But that too will be easy. Let’s begin.
WHY FISH WITH A PRO?
The captain knows all.
He and his crew have everything and do everything, right down to cleaning the fish afterward. Simply show up with sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. They even have all the gear; it’s included in their convenient fishing packages. Just pack a lunch and/or snacks, depending on the length of your trip. And water! Although many captains provide enough water for everyone, ask before your trip.
Your kids will love it.
If it’s their first experience, make it as simple as possible. The kid-specific trips are designed to introduce children to all the fun and excitement of Florida fishing. All ages and all skill levels are welcome aboard. A fast fishing boat, with a seasoned captain, has a way of bringing everyone together!
Some are catch-and-release.
And some tasty fish are catch-and-keep! The local charters share one common thing: You arrive empty-handed, but you leave with fresh fish filets, quickly prepared and fileted by the crew – from the fish you just caught!
Fresh. An understatement.
Have a cooler ready in your car or your Oversee home, where you can prepare your prizes later that evening, or even lunch. Most of the kitchens in our homes are fully equipped and chef-ready. Just purchase some cooking basics, like butter and oil. Check out these yummy recipes!

WHAT TO EXPECT?
A true Florida experience!
It doesn’t get any more Florida than this. Bring a smile and a willingness to be under the sun for a while. Popular charter trips vary from 1 hour to all-day excursions, so dress accordingly. A big sun hat? Sure! And polarized sunglasses, amber or copper lens color.
Sturdy footwear.
You want good traction, especially when wet. Think sneakers, Chacos, and Tivas, not flip-flops. And if it hasn’t been mentioned yet… Sunscreen!
Oh. And raingear.
Never leave home without it. Even in the heat of summer, being wet can get uncomfortable.
It’s that easy?
Hey, don’t take my word for it. The pics say it all: Thousands of satisfied customers have not been shy about showing-off their trophies. The folks are smiling because catching large fish is powerful stuff! A vacation highlight, for sure.
THE TARPON!
Yes, the Redfish, Jack Crevalle, and False Albacore are fun to chase along the inshore bay waters and the nearshore Gulf.
But it’s the tarpon, every summer, that gets the captains at Slow and Low Coastal Outfitters excited. They look forward every single day of the year to tarpon season and are absolutely obsessed with the pursuit of helping you catch these marvelous fish.
Your 30a fly fishing experience with them will keep you coming back summer after summer. Call and get dates before they fill up! Then, book your Oversee dream home. Fish on!
WHERE THE PROS GO
A bay, lake, river, or deep in the Gulf.
Hop on a boat with a big motor and get whisked away from one honey hole to the next. Try fishing saltwater and freshwater on the same trip. Don’t feel like an all-day deep-sea trip? No problem. Many 2, 3, and 4-hour trips are designed for optimum fun and efficiency.
Inshore.
These include trips along the coastline of the Gulf or Choctawhatchee Bay, promising wet lines in a matter of minutes. At the end of the day, if you’re short on time, an inshore trip will be the better choice for you. Plus, fishing along the flats, backcountry, and the bays, are big-time memory makers.
Nearshore.
This broad category of saltwater fishing is between the waters past the beaches and bays and the offshore drop-off. It’s the perfect mix of accessibility, shorter trip length, and rod-bending action. With shorter travel times and plenty of hard-fighting fish, nearshore trips are great for anglers of all levels and ages.
Offshore.
Also known as deep-sea fishing, it generally takes place more than 9 miles from the shore. 30A offshore fishing trips take you far out into the Gulf, where you’re more likely to catch larger fish. A deep-sea 30A fishing trip is ideal for experienced fishing enthusiasts who won’t get bored after a few hours on the water.
Go boatless.
Learn to fish from the beach! Depending on the time of the year, you’ll catch Pompano, Redfish, Sharks, Ladyfish, and other species. Most charters provide great opportunities, right there in the sand.
Can you fish on a 30A beach?
You can enjoy surf fishing anywhere along the shore of 30A, as long as you have a Florida fishing license. However, you’ll be more likely to find more fish if you venture to spots where the waves aren’t breaking against the sandbar. Most charters provide great opportunities, right there on the sand.
