Seaside and Rosemary Beach? Been there, done that.
Skip the local heavyweights this year. Carillon Beach sits close enough to 30A and Panama City Beach to borrow the best of both, but without the crowds of either.
The sand is sugar white. The water is still Gulf-of-Amazing. The rental homes, just as gorgeous. Browse Oversee’s Carillon Beach vacation rentals and see what staying here actually looks like.
WHERE IS CARILLON BEACH?
It rests between the eastern end of 30A and the western edge of Panama City Beach.
After dinner on 30A, or activities in Panama City Beach, you still come home to somewhere that feels like neither one followed you back.
THE VIBE
Bikes roll by a few gorgeous homes with wide porches and colorful facades. Then a dune path dumps them straight onto the beach. Sounds peaceful, and perfect.
Carillon Beach stopped trying to impress anyone years ago. It’s settled in. Polished, chill, not auditioning for your Instagram feed.
WHO BOOKS HERE
Families? Well, of course. Beach-pool-bikes, again and again. Parents like that nothing here requires a plan. Kids like that nobody’s rushing them.
Couples. Slow mornings, sunset walks, a balcony conversation that somehow eats two hours. Carillon Beach won’t entertain you every minute, and that’s the point.
Multi-generational groups. Grandparents get to actually sit down. Kids get to run loose. Big homes and easy beach access mean nobody’s tripping over anybody.
Tired of crowds. You know that vacation feeling where you’re still standing in lines and stuck in traffic? Not much of that here.
CARILLON BEACH VS. THE NEIGHBORS
Central 30A. Seaside, Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach: More restaurants, more shops, more reasons to leave the house daily. Great if hopping between towns sounds like a vacation, not a chore.
Panama City Beach brings the bigger energy: resorts, a pier, attractions, crowds that don’t quit. Great if nonstop action is the point.
Carillon Beach skips both, on purpose. Beach house energy instead of brochure energy, a private and quiet base, close enough to visit your neighbors, close enough to leave the moment you feel like it.
THE SHORTLIST
- Walk the dune path to the beach at sunset
- Swim the Gulf or hit the community pool (check your rental’s access)
- Bike the neighborhood. Bring your own, or book a rental that includes them
- Wander over to Lake Carillon for a quieter morning
- Grab breakfast at Our Little Beach Café, no reservation required
- Drive to 30A or PCB on the days you want more noise
EATING WITHOUT OVERTHINKING
Our Little Beach Café covers mornings. Lake Powell Pizza is the easy vote when nobody wants to decide on dinner. Bayou Bill’s Crab House handles seafood night. The Salty Bottle is solid for a low-key evening drink.
Still craving even more? Your neighbors are within easy reach. Hours shift by season, and reservations may be necessary, so call ahead: better than a locked door or a 40-minute wait.
BOOKING THE RIGHT HOME
The Carillon Beach lineup runs the full range: beachfront homes, big group houses with room to spread out, smaller spots built for couples who just want a porch and a view.
Ask yourself: How many people will be in your group? Beachfront, or close enough? Private pool or community pool? And realistically, how much are you actually leaving the house?
Pick the home that fits the trip, not just the prettiest listing photo.
