HUH? WHERE?

Santa Rosa Beach encompasses an area that’s a bit more difficult to define than the more traditional 30A beach communities. To some, it represents the heart of all things 30A. But geographically, it covers a huge stretch from Choctawhatchee Bay in the north to the Gulf of Mexico in the south, reaching from Miramar Beach in the west to Seagrove Beach in the east. Big!

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT.

In the early 1900s, Charles Cessna fell in love with the area during his honeymoon and envisioned it as an agricultural hub. By 1910, Hogtown Bayou was alive with sugarcane fields, schools, and churches, attracting newcomers from far and wide. But not everyone got along (locals vs. newcomers, anyone?).

But the good times were short-lived. A yellow fever outbreak and a hurricane in 1926 nearly wiped the town off the map by World War II. Fortunately, by the mid-40s, Santa Rosa Beach began to rise again, proving that comebacks are always possible. Thank goodness!

The Coastal Library Journal Writing Group meets on Mondays at 11:30 am, inviting participants to bring a journal and pen for a session focused on inner wisdom and authentic self-reconnection. No prior writing experience is required, as the group welcomes both beginners and experienced journalers to explore topics such as memoir writing, self-discovery tools, and creative inspiration. The meetings provide a space for gentle reflection and healing through the art of journaling.

The group is shifting their meeting time to 5:30–7:30 PM on Mondays, effective immediately through March. When spring arrives, they will revert to the 6:30–8:30 PM schedule. These are the only two times that will be used for the event. Participants are invited to attend that night for "brain-waves and beach-vibes."

Local Cantina Westerville hosts a weekly Trivia Night every Monday at 7 PM, offering a lively evening of friendly competition, tacos, and margaritas. The event is free to play, and top-performing teams can win various prizes while enjoying a full Tex-Mex menu and local brews. Attendees can also take advantage of the Mustache Ride Monday special, featuring $5 Mustache Ride Margaritas all day long. Located at 667 N Cleveland Avenue, the venue encourages guests to arrive early to secure seating and to compete fairly by refraining from phone use during the rounds.
