February 18: Melinda Gates, Environmental Manager for Walton County, will present "The Imperiled Coastal Dune Lakes." She will discuss these unique ecosystems, found in only five places worldwide. Gates has over 20 years of experience protecting natural resources in Florida, with projects supporting coastal dune lakes, artificial reefs, habitat conservation plans, and watershed planning. February 25: Author Judith Dupre, a recipient of numerous prestigious awards, returns to Escape to Create to work on "Bird on a Wire: A William James Mystery," a historical nonfiction project. Dupre incorporates vintage and historic photos in her nonfiction work, which illuminates art, architecture, and religion, aiming to connect people to ideas, structures, and places. March 4: Karen Doud, a Florida Master Gardener and horticulture expert, will present a houseplant program. She will share tips and creative ideas to help attendees keep their indoor gardens thriving all year long.
