Ranger Led Hike
A guided nature hike is being offered by a Park Ranger at Eden Gardens State Park. Participants should meet on the paver block pad, next to the screened-in pavilion. The hike will go through two distinct natural communities, the Xeric Hammock and the Floodplain Swamp. The ranger will share information about the flora and fauna specific to these areas within the park.
The Ranger Led Nature Hike is scheduled for Tuesday, October 7, Tuesday, November 4, and Tuesday, December 2, from 9 AM to 10 AM.
Attendance is free with a paid park entry fee. The entry fee is $4.00 per vehicle or $2.00 per bicyclist or pedestrian. The hike is approximately 3/4 of a mile long and is expected to take between 25 and 45 minutes.
Attendees should dress appropriately for the weather and wear suitable footwear for the trail conditions, which are primarily flat, hard-packed soil, sometimes slightly sloped, with several tree roots. It is also recommended that participants bring a water bottle and insect repellent.
