Park Ranger staff invite individuals to join them for a guided nature hike on the first Thursday of every month at 10 AM. Participants can explore Camp Helen’s scenic and accessible trail system while learning about the park’s diverse plant and animal life, as well as the unique ecosystem of the Florida Panhandle. This hike is suitable for all experience levels and requires moderate endurance. The guided nature hike runs from 10 AM to 11 AM. The Oak Canopy and North Trails feature a mix of paved, sandy, and packed-earth terrain. Attendees should wear comfortable clothing and shoes, and bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and bug repellent, along with their adventurous spirit. The Camp Seaside Scavenger Hunt is an adventure through a vibrant beach town. Kids will team up, follow a clue sheet, and race to find special spots and treasures while learning about Seaside's coolest corners. The hunt includes a fun, kid-friendly clue sheet and prizes for completed cards and extra spirit. Participants should bring comfy shoes, a water bottle, and eagle eyes. The Florida Department of Health in Walton County and AHEC offer Tobacco Free Florida’s Group Quit program for individuals ready to stop using tobacco. These complimentary, expert-led sessions provide necessary support and resources, including free nicotine replacement therapy such as patches, gum, or lozenges, if medically appropriate. Participants will develop a personalized quit plan and acquire tools to maintain their quit attempt. The Team Challenge offers a unique blend of quality tennis and a memorable beach vacation. This series of team tennis events is designed for women at various NTRP skill levels. Each Ladies Team Challenge weekend hosts at least six teams, with a minimum of six women per team (three doubles teams). The format is a round-robin, where teams compete against others throughout the weekend. The challenge includes two matches on Friday and Saturday, with the top qualifying matches held on Sunday morning. The Team Challenge is a series of team tennis events for women across various NTRP levels, offering an ideal blend of quality tennis and a memorable beach vacation. Each Ladies Team Challenge weekend features at least six teams, with a minimum of six ladies per team, forming three doubles teams. The format is a round-robin, where teams compete against others throughout the weekend. The Team Challenge includes two matches on both Friday and Saturday, with the top qualifying matches held on Sunday morning. An exciting College Football Watch Party takes place every Saturday throughout the season. Attendees can watch their favorite college football teams compete on a massive 25-ft Jumbotron, noted as the biggest screen in town. Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) announced its upcoming student production of Alice in Wonderland Jr., with performances scheduled from November 5–15, 2025. The production is part of ECTC’s Educational Theatre Program and will showcase students from second grade through high school across Northwest Florida. Performances will take place on ECTC’s main stage and at the Florida Chautauqua Theatre in Defuniak. Based on the Disney classic, Alice in Wonderland Jr. will take audiences on a journey down the rabbit hole with Alice, introducing them to whimsical characters and lively music. Students prepared for the performances through a comprehensive musical theatre class focusing on acting, singing, and choreography. This program allowed students of all ages to develop technical theatre skills, gain confidence, experience teamwork, and build character. The ECTC Main Stage Performance Schedule is as follows: Little Players (2nd–3rd Grade) will perform on Wednesday, November 5 at 6:30 p.m. (Wednesday Class) and Thursday, November 6 at 6:30 p.m. (Thursday Class).
