10th Annual Prohibition Repeal Wine Dinner
Restaurant Paradis, presented by Cryo 850, is set to host its 10th Annual Prohibition Repeal Wine Dinner on Saturday, January 10, 2026, with proceeds benefiting South Walton Academy. The event, kicking off at 6:30 p.m., will begin with an intimate cocktail hour featuring a specialty spirit served in a commemorative glass, courtesy of Buddy’s Seafood. The restaurant will be closed for the private, Gatsby, Prohibition-era celebration. Guests will then proceed to the main dining room for a four-course meal sponsored by 30A Hat Bar, 30A Home, Shore Thing Cigars, and Silver Sands Premium Outlets. Prepared by award-winning chef Mark Eichin and his culinary team, the meal will feature local produce, Gulf seafood, and fine meats. Entertainment for the evening includes an electric violinist from Violin 30A, sponsored by Inlet Beach Real Estate, a photo booth courtesy of Coastal Insurance and Shay Wiggins, florals sponsored by 30A Luxury Vacations, and photography sponsored by Swiftly Catered. Attendees will also receive a special gift to commemorate the 10-year anniversary.
The proceeds from the dinner will go to South Walton Academy, a private, non-profit inclusion school and pediatric therapy clinic located in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. The academy, situated at 305 Mack Bayou Road, aims to empower children through inclusive education and community engagement, serving students from preschool through 12th grade. It offers individualized education and therapeutic support like speech, occupational, and behavioral therapy. Calley Middlebrooks, founder of South Walton Academy, noted that the academy was built on the belief that every child deserves access to education and support, emphasizing the vital role of community support, like the Prohibition Repeal Dinner, in removing barriers and changing children’s lives.
Over the past decade, Restaurant Paradis’ Prohibition Dinners have successfully raised over $63,000 for various local charities, including Alaqua Animal Refuge, Beach Care Services, Destin Charity Wine Auction, Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center, Food for Thought Outreach, Hannies Grannies, Neurodiversity Resource of the Panhandle, and Westonwood Ranch. Danny Cosenzi, owner of Restaurant Paradis, expressed that it has been an honor to host the charity wine dinner for the past ten years, bringing generous people together for a fabulous evening while raising money for great causes. He stated they look forward to hosting many more dinners in the future, especially to support South Walton Academy and the much-needed service it provides to the community. Guests are encouraged to dress in 1920s, Gatsby-themed attire. A limited number of tickets are available for $250 per person, which includes all food, beverage, and gratuity. Foster Gallery Outreach Special Exhibit: Retro Americana
The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) is inviting its current member artists to submit up to three original works for an upcoming Foster Gallery Outreach Special Exhibit. This exhibit will be held at the Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) in Grand Boulevard Town Center.
The special themed exhibition, “Retro Americana,” will be on display in the ECTC lobby from February 3 through June 5, 2026. The exhibit is designed to complement ECTC’s Season 13 productions, Forever Plaid and Mystic Pizza, creating an immersive cultural experience that celebrates nostalgia, music, and Americana storytelling.
Artists are encouraged to submit original works visually celebrating classic American culture. Submissions may explore themes such as diners, jukeboxes, classic cars, small-town life, vintage fashion, and pop culture icons, as well as the feeling of the “good old days.” The artwork may also reflect on themes like memory, nostalgia versus reality, and reinterpretations of old photographs.
The Foster Gallery was established by the CAA in 2016 to honor founder, artist, and educator Susan Foster, and has served as a platform for showcasing local and regional artists. The CAA has evolved The Foster Gallery into a Visual Arts Outreach Program, bringing art into public and community-centered spaces throughout Walton County. This outreach model helps artists gain increased visibility and opportunities to exhibit and sell their work to broader and more diverse audiences beyond a single gallery location. This special exhibit at ECTC continues that mission by pairing visual art with live performance in a unique, cross-disciplinary collaboration.
The exhibit location is the Emerald Coast Theatre Company at 560 Grand Blvd., Ste 200 Upstairs, Miramar Beach, FL 32550. Artists are not required to work at the host location, but they must be current members of the CAA (members do not have to be local). Information on joining the CAA is available online.
The timeline for the exhibit includes: The call to artists runs from December 5, 2025, to January 20, 2026. Artists will be notified on January 23, 2026. Art delivery to ECTC is scheduled for January 28 and 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibit opens on February 3, 2026. An Artist Reception will be held on February 12, 2026, from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. The exhibit ends on June 5, 2026. The mandatory art pick-up date is June 5 or 9, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The CAA looks forward to seeing the unique creations and celebrating the diverse talents of the creative community, noting this is an opportunity to showcase work and connect with fellow artists and art enthusiasts. To apply, artists must study the criteria and submit an application online prior to 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
