Park Ranger staff lead a guided nature hike on the first Thursday of each month at 10 AM. Participants explore Camp Helen’s scenic and accessible trail system, learning about the park’s diverse plant and animal life and the unique ecosystem of the Florida Panhandle. The hike is suitable for all experience levels and requires moderate endurance. The Oak Canopy and North Trails offer a mix of paved, sandy, and packed-earth terrain. Participants are advised to wear comfortable clothing and shoes and to bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and bug repellent, along with an adventurous spirit. The event takes place at Camp Helen State Park, located at 23937 Panama City Beach Parkway, just west of the Phillips Inlet Bridge on the Bay County and Walton County line.

The tour begins at the Visitor Center, and participants are advised to bring water and wear comfortable walking attire. Tours are conducted outdoors and may be canceled in case of bad weather. Camp Helen State Park is located at 23937 Panama City Beach Parkway, just west of the Phillips Inlet Bridge on the Bay County and Walton County line. This is an opportunity to connect with the past and experience history firsthand.
