As the program has grown, the CAA has developed The Foster Gallery into a Visual Arts Outreach Program, aiming to bring art into public and community-centered spaces throughout Walton County. This outreach model offers artists increased visibility and opportunities to exhibit and sell their work to broader and more diverse audiences beyond a single gallery location. This special exhibit at ECTC continues that mission by pairing visual art with live performance, inviting artists into a unique, cross-disciplinary collaboration. The exhibit location is the Emerald Coast Theatre Company at 560 Grand Blvd., Ste 200 Upstairs, Miramar Beach, FL 32550. Foster Gallery Outreach Special Exhibit: Retro Americana
Miramar Beach
Emerald Coast Theatre Company
560 Grand Boulevard, Miramar Beach, 32550
Sunday, May 3, 10:00 am - 12:00 am
In 2 days
The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) is extending an invitation to its current member artists to submit up to three original works for a special Foster Gallery Outreach exhibition. This exhibit will be held at the Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) in Grand Boulevard Town Center.
This special themed exhibition is scheduled to be on display in the ECTC lobby from February 3 through June 5, 2026. It is specifically designed to complement ECTC’s Season 13 productions, *Forever Plaid* and *Mystic Pizza*. The combination of the visual art exhibit and the performances aims to create an immersive cultural experience that celebrates nostalgia, music, and Americana storytelling.
The theme for the exhibition is “Retro Americana.” Artists are encouraged to submit original works inspired by this theme, which is described as a visual celebration of classic American culture. Submissions may explore subjects such as diners, jukeboxes, classic cars, small-town life, vintage fashion, and pop culture icons, as well as the overall feeling of the “good old days.” Works may also reflect on themes of memory, the contrast between nostalgia and reality, and reinterpretations of old photographs.
The Foster Gallery was established by the CAA in 2016 to honor founder, artist, and educator Susan Foster, and has traditionally served as a platform for local and regional artists. The CAA has since evolved The Foster Gallery into a Visual Arts Outreach Program, dedicated to bringing art into public and community-centered spaces throughout Walton County. This outreach model provides artists with increased visibility and opportunities to exhibit and sell their work, connecting them with broader and more diverse audiences outside of a single gallery setting. The special exhibit at ECTC continues this mission by pairing visual art with live performance, inviting artists to participate in a unique, cross-disciplinary collaboration.
The exhibit location is the Emerald Coast Theatre Company, located at 560 Grand Blvd., Ste 200 Upstairs, Miramar Beach, FL 32550.
Artists are not required to work at the host location, but they must be current members of the CAA (membership is not restricted to local artists). Information on how to join the CAA is available online.
The timeline for the exhibition is as follows: The call to artists runs from December 5, 2025, through January 20, 2026. Artists will be notified on January 23, 2026. Art delivery to ECTC is scheduled for January 28 and 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibit opens on February 3, 2026, and an Artist Reception is planned for February 12, 2026, from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. The exhibit ends on June 5, 2026. Mandatory art pick-up dates are June 5 or 9, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The CAA looks forward to viewing the unique creations and celebrating the diverse talents of the creative community, noting that this is an opportunity for artists to showcase their work and connect with fellow artists and art enthusiasts.
To apply, artists must study the criteria and submit an application online prior to 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Saturday, May 9, 10:00 am - 12:00 am
In 8 days
The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) is inviting its current member artists to submit up to three original works for an upcoming Foster Gallery Outreach Special Exhibit. This exhibit will take place at the Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) in Grand Boulevard Town Center.
The special themed exhibition is scheduled to be on view in the ECTC lobby from February 3 through June 5, 2026. It is designed to complement ECTC’s Season 13 productions, *Forever Plaid* and *Mystic Pizza*. The exhibit and performances together aim to create an immersive cultural experience celebrating nostalgia, music, and Americana storytelling.
The theme for the exhibit is “Retro Americana,” which is described as a visual celebration of classic American culture. Artists are encouraged to submit original works inspired by this theme, potentially exploring subjects such as diners, jukeboxes, classic cars, small-town life, vintage fashion, pop culture icons, and the feeling of the “good old days.” Submissions may also reflect on themes like memory, nostalgia versus reality, and reinterpretations of old photographs.
The Foster Gallery was established by the CAA in 2016 to honor founder, artist, and educator Susan Foster. It initially served as a platform for showcasing local and regional artists.
Artists are not required to work at the host location, but they must be current members of the CAA (membership is not restricted to local artists).
The timeline for the exhibit is as follows:
The call to artists runs from December 5, 2025, to January 20, 2026.
Artist notification is scheduled for January 23, 2026.
Art delivery to ECTC will take place on January 28 and 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The exhibit opens on February 3, 2026.
An Artist Reception is planned for February 12, 2026, from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m.
The exhibit ends on June 5, 2026.
Mandatory Art Pick up dates are June 5 or 9, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The CAA encourages artists to showcase their unique creations and connect with fellow artists and art enthusiasts. To apply, interested artists must study the criteria and submit an application online prior to 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

GOLF
The Greens of the Emerald Coast.
Burnt Pine Golf Club
When Golf Magazine calls you the "Crown Jewel of Florida Golf", you tee up and take notice. Course architect Rees Jones proves in this 7,000-yard layout why he is one of the most respected architects in the world.
Breathtaking views along the Choctawhatchee Bay highlight the back nine. Meander through pine forests and wetlands of the Emerald Coast on the front nine. Rolling fairways and strategically placed bunkers invite golfers to out-duel the course by using a different approach to every hole. You'll be challenged by Burnt Pine Golf Club, and amazed.
Origins Golf Club, Watersound
The mission of Origins Golf Club is to make golf more fun, accessible, and attractive to families, beginners, and casual golfers. No clubs? No problem. Origins will rent you whatever you need to get you out there and swinging.
The Links Course
For a unique challenge, try outfoxing the prevailing Gulf Coast winds. It may be the only way to achieve success on this classic links-style, shot-makers course, the ultimate in risk-reward golf.
The winding, one-of-a-kind layout includes five holes that run along the bay and spectacular views of the Choctawhatchee Bay and the Baytowne Marina.
Seascape
In the prime location of Miramar Beach, the perfectly manicured greens of Seascape are nearly as seductive as the lush forests and coastal dune lakes. With breathtaking views of the Gulf from many of the holes, the tranquil, yet challenging settings, were envisioned and designed by famed course architect Joe Lee.
The sheer beauty of the terrain, with its tall pines, shimmering waters, and softly rolling hills has been known to distract even the most ardent golfers. If time is an issue, Seascape offers the option of playing nine holes in the afternoon.
Kelly Plantation Golf Club
Designed by Fred Couples and Gene Bates, Kelly Plantation Golf Club is gorgeous. With challenging play, amidst stunning coastal scenery and bayside views, the club is consistently top-rated by Golf Digest and the Zagat survey.
The impeccably maintained course is open to the public and is a favorite destination of golfers from throughout the country and around the world, and boasts more than 7,000 yards of contoured greens, wide manicured fairways, strategically placed hazards, and panoramic views of Choctawhatchee Bay.
Raven Golf Club
Masterfully carved through marshes, wetlands, and pines, the par 71 layout at Raven Golf Club is “modern traditional”. A natural wonder that presents drama and strategy on every tee, golfers can elevate their game with a myriad of exciting shot options.
The dramatic changes in color and texture throughout the course, such as large, undulating greens, help make club selection an essential part of each round. Raven was home to the Boeing Championship—a stop on the PGA Champions Tour—in 2006 and 2007.
Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club
A private beach club and member-owned, the recent multi-million-dollar renovation of Santa Rosa inspired Golf Magazine to call it the “Purest Golf in the Florida Panhandle.”
You’ll be challenged by the many elevation changes. And wowed by the natural wildlife and its habitats. The golf course is designed for walking, with very little distance between greens and tees. But that’s okay, two of the holes back up to the Gulf of Mexico, a rarity around here. Explore the course, and see what makes golf at Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club, unlike anything you’ve played before.
Baytowne Golf Club
Recognized as the only course on Florida’s Emerald Coast that extends from the beach to the bay, Baytowne Golf Club is revered as one of the finest creations by renowned designer Tom Jackson.
One of the most sought-after golf experiences on the Panhandle, and brimming with choices, Baytowne has been hailed, twice, by Golf Digest as one of the “Best Places to Play”, with some of the only elevation changes for any golf course in the South Walton or Destin area. With multiple teeing areas, the course is as forgiving from the forward tees as it is challenging from the championship tees.
A fifth set of tees makes this course a great option for beginners just learning the game, or for a brisk afternoon round of golf after a meeting, or before dinner at the nearby Village of Baytowne Wharf.
